On Wednesday 11 November 2026 FairSSL moves from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Frankfurt to UpCloud, a Finnish hosting provider with data centres in Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
What moves
- Websites, control panel, API, ACME server and database: from AWS in Frankfurt to UpCloud (Finland), with data centres in Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
- Email: from Microsoft 365 to mailbox.org (Germany).
- Support: from Freshdesk to our own support system.
- System emails such as order confirmations, certificate notices and invoices: now sent by Lettermint (Netherlands).
- Locked backups and key management: at OVHcloud (France).
Why
We want your data with suppliers headquartered in the EU rather than with US groups. If you assess your suppliers under NIS2, you ask where data is stored and who owns the supplier. After the move, hosting, email, backups and system emails run at UpCloud, mailbox.org, OVHcloud and Lettermint, all headquartered in the EU.
What you need to do
Nothing, unless your firewall only allows certain IP addresses to or from us. In that case, allow the new addresses before 11 November 2026 at 13:00 Danish time. The addresses and the schedule, including the test on 4 and 5 November, are on IP addresses for firewalls. If your firewall can use host names, allow fairssl.dk instead of IP addresses.
What does not change
- The CAs are the same: DigiCert, GlobalSign and Sectigo. DigiCert and Sectigo are US companies, and the details to be validated are processed by the CA that issues the certificate.
- The ACME URL is still
https://fairssl.dk/acme. You do not need to change anything in your ACME clients.
All sub-processors with status and dates are listed on Sub-processors. If you object to a new sub-processor, write to info@fairssl.dk before 11 November 2026.
